Christmas Already!!

These minis are on their way to Uruguay! I wanted to make sure our missionary gets his Christmas box so I mailed it off in October. I almost didn't send cookies because I'm sure they will be stale when he gets them, but Todd convinced me that it will still be a taste of home for Tyler. So the 2 boys & I rushed and got these decorated, packed up tight, and sent off to be part of a summery & hot Christmas in South America! Merry Christmas, Tyler!
I also taught a huge class for a private group last week. They wanted Christmas cookies so we did something similar to these. Really wish I had taken pictures of the samples before they got eaten! We added red sanding sugar on our candy cane stripes for some sparkle. The peppermint twist candy is one of my very favorites.

I just bought a bagful of new Christmas cutters so I'll be baking and decorating those shapes soon!

It's Fall, Ya'll!!

Fall cookies in yellow, orange and brown. I love the extra dimension on the pumpkins with the brown vines!
These were the set we did for the class at Sweet last week.

Jolly Jacks

These Jack-o-lantern cookies went to a preschool class for Halloween. Simple stenciling gave the pumpkins their happy faces. Green leaves and vines added to their party look.

Happy Cookies for a Happy Birthday!

I volunteered to make 2 dozen cookies for a service auction at church. The sweet friend who won them asked me to make them for her adult son's birthday. These are what I came up with. I found lots of inspiration for them on Pinterest. I got to use my new plaque cutter and I pieced the candles from parts of some other cutters. The candles are my favorite!

Halloween Time!

Halloween cookies!!
These three are the samples for my next decorating class at Sweet. Who doesn't love a cute cookie for a Halloween treat?

Sunflowers & Jayhawks

These sunflowers and Jayhawks were for a luncheon for KU law students! It was fun to do some Jayhawks again. I did a little painting on the sunflowers to give them more color. The centers were a chocolate glaze with chocolate jimmies -  so delicious with my vanilla almond cookie.

Graduation Party!

My oldest son graduated from high school in May. I'm still not sure how he grew up so fast!
But - not only was he graduating, he was also leaving 2 weeks later to serve a mission for our church.
We are so proud of him! We had a party at our house to celebrate both events.
He's a really smart kid and loves academics so I used a lot of random old book pages to decorate.
The wall behind the dessert table was covered with book pages up to the ceiling. It was so cool!
I also put book pages running down the center of the dessert table on top of the blue chevron pattern tablecloth. It was a little vintage, a little modern, a little masculine, a little scholarly, and a little festive!
I made Chocolate Cake Pops, Lemon Bars, Coconut Mini Cupcakes, Biscoff Frosted Cupcakes with custom rosettes, and of course,
 Sugar Cookies!!
I made BYU ovals since that's where he'll be going when he comes back. GO BYU!
The gradation boy cookies were my version of Sweet Sugarbelle's. They look like little Tyler's!
And I did little white shirts and ties for my missionary boy. See the teeny, tiny, little name tags? These adorable shirts were inspired by some I found on Pinterest. And you can see the circles that I stenciled with the chevrons that were also on the dessert table cloth. We didn't get any good pictures of them, but I also made chevron designed water bottle wrappers with a cute little circle graduation logo on the front.
This was such a fun project for me to do!

Pink Pretties

These pretty stenciled cookies were the perfect Thank You for a very special piano teacher.
I wanted to make some amazing musical themed cookies for her but I just didn't have the time. So I went with something fast and easy. They're easier to make than they look.
 I actually LOVE them.
Beautiful, swirly, elegant AND delicious!

Stenciled Birthday Cookies

My friend Melanie's birthday was this week and today I gave her these when we got together for lunch. She shared them with all the friends there and they seemed to be a hit!
I used my Silhouette machine to design and cut the stencils. The designs are done in royal icing on a flooded base of glaze. I like using both kinds of icings for each of their best qualities.

I matched the colors to some pink and orange and gold notecards I've had for a long time and I've wanted to "cookiefy" them. It was a pretty good match!
Happy Birthday, Melanie!

Easter Cookie Class

Easter is early this year and it's coming fast! We'll be making a dozen of these cuties in our class at Sweet. The chicks with the sugar for fluff are my favorites. We'll be creative and design our eggs as fancy or simple as you want!
Happy Easter!

Loopy Lucky Leprechauns

These cuties are what we'll be making at my next decorating class at Sweet. The loopy shamrock was a design from various cookie makers online. The leprechaun idea is from Sweet Sugarbelle. I used an upside-down cupcake cutter to make his happy little face. And the lucky horseshoe cookie is brought to you by the letter U!
Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Valentine Cookie Class

These are the samples for my Valentine Cookie decorating class at Sweet.
It should be a pretty easy class and we'll probably get creative and try out lots of designs.

A plate of these will make your sweetheart smile!

Zebra Birthday Cake Cookies

Happy Birthday to my dear Friend. She made some delicious treats for my birthday so I did pink cakes with zebra designs and hearts with shiny black outlines for hers.
(And YAY for me getting 20,000 page views on this little cookie site!)
